TUCSON, AZ – The Women’s Foundation for the State of Arizona (WFSA) is proud to introduce the Daring Generations event series, a series of award events dedicated to championing and honoring women who are advancing the cause of gender equity, both now and in the future. This dynamic series will feature four events, beginning with gatherings in Phoenix on May 2, 2024 and Tucson on May 16, 2024 with dates in Flagstaff and Yuma to be announced soon.
Each event will include an award ceremony recognizing leaders who are building power and contributing to the well-being of women and girls in Arizona. These awards celebrate individuals who move within their communities with authenticity and purpose, embracing their diverse identities and experiences in the following contemporary categories: Future, Transformation, Matriarch, Encore and Legacy. WFSA emphasizes that this isn’t your average gala; they’re reinventing fundraising events. Galas and Luncheons have been staple events of traditional methods of philanthropy for a long time. As WFSA continues to operate from a space of community-centric fundraising, they’re moving away from the “traditional” and invite you to join in practicing philanthropy that is transformational and not transactional.
“We are shifting towards value-driven transformations. We want to emphasize cultivating relationships rather than creating transactional ones. As we integrate these new values into our operations, we recognize the need to reassess how we interact with communities within our event spaces. Drawing insights from feedback provided by sponsors like yourself and past event attendees, we have developed the Daring Generations series,” remarked Katia Jones, VP of Community Mobilization at WFSA.
Nominations are now open for individuals who embody the spirit of Daring Generations. Whether it’s someone making waves in Phoenix or Tucson, we want to hear about them! Nominees will be considered for one of five award categories, with nominations closing at 11:59 PM (MST) on April 12, 2024.
