WFSA Stands Firm Against Harmful Policies Threatening Women and Marginalized Communities

The Women’s Foundation for the State of Arizona Stands Firm Against Harmful Policies Threatening Women and Marginalized Communities

(TUCSON, AZ) – The Women’s Foundation for the State of Arizona (WFSA) reaffirms its commitment to advancing gender equity and empowering women, girls, and gender-expansive individuals across Arizona in the face of intensifying detrimental policies that continue to jeopardize the rights and freedoms of marginalized communities.

For over 30 years, WFSA has been a steadfast advocate for Arizona’s most vulnerable populations, awarding more than $7 million dollars to nonprofits that address systemic inequities and creating new opportunities for communities in need.

“Our work is fueled by the undeniable strength of Arizona’s diverse communities,” said WFSA CEO Katia Jones. “As the political landscape becomes increasingly dominated by interests that often exclude and harm women, people of color, and LGBTQ+ individuals, WFSA remains resolute in fighting for an equitable Arizona that truly serves all.”

WFSA’s Upcoming Initiatives to Advance Equity in Arizona

With a presidential administration that has mentioned plans to more aggressively limit access to multiple forms of reproductive healthcare, we are fortunate for the effort of those behind Proposition 139 and securing abortion rights within Arizona. Looking into 2025, We hope to build off that success and continue to improve the availability of the entire scope of family planning options for Arizonans.

WFSA believes that we have an agenda that should continue to receive bipartisan investment as we envision a state with improved childcare accessibility and eliminating barriers that contribute to ongoing gender and racial pay gaps. It is critical for Arizonans to believe that regardless of the political landscape, our state can and will continue to progress on all necessary fronts.
