This foundation was created to fill a critical gap— to support and empower women to elevate their careers, passions, and positions here in Arizona. It has morphed to be the only statewide organization solely focused on advancing the lives of women and girls of all identities. The purpose and our mission/vision remain more urgent than ever.
I want to take a moment and amplify a few areas of where I see WFSA moving as a leader in philanthropy:
WFSA is uniquely positioned to connect the grassroots to the grass tops—to act as both a funder and a convener, a voice and a listener, a builder of bridges and a driver of change. Our vision is to transform Arizona into a place where women and girls of all identities can thrive without barriers, and where bold solutions rooted in lived experience create lasting impact.
I believe that, in three years, we will have a truly statewide presence—with staff, funding, and trusted partnerships across rural, urban, and tribal communities. We’ll build a strong pipeline of supporters, policies, and programs that reflect our values: lived experience, truth, and mission focus. We’ll be known nationally for innovation, equity, and trust-based philanthropy.
We’ll pass and support bold legislation. We’ll host convenings that shift philanthropic practices. We’ll offer training and leadership programs that build up women—especially women of color—as advocates, business owners, and changemakers. Through these efforts, we’ll not only highlight existing solutions but help scale and sustain them.
Our team will be stronger, more aligned, and rooted in a culture of excellence, inclusivity, and joy. Our board will be diverse in thought, geography, and background—serving strategically, not operationally, and deeply connected to the communities we aim to serve. Our leadership culture will value balance, curiosity, results, and growth.
Ultimately, WFSA will be a place where women come to pause, heal, rise, and lead. We’ll leave behind a legacy of systems, strategies, and relationships that empower future generations of women to face fewer obstacles and access more opportunities.
I took this position because I saw our potential—and I still do. We have the space to thoughtfully create our strategy to make all of these thoughts a reality. We are building the legacy…right now. And now, more than ever, we are ready to grow, evolve, and lead boldly.
