Nominate a Community Leader

WFSA’s Daring Generations award series recognizes and honors the individual excellence of our statewide leaders. Nominations for these awards are submitted by community members and reviewed by WFSA’s committee.

Celebrating Northern Arizona Leaders

Daring Generations honors how leaders move in community and in conversation with the identities they hold. All awards recognize leaders who are building power and/or contributing to the well-being of women and girls in Arizona.

Know an incredible woman transforming their community? Nominate them for one of the following award categories today.

Recognizes a younger (25 and under) community member who is impacting their community. We acknowledge the significant hurdles that young people face in accessing resources and power, as well as the unique and necessary vision that young folks bring to social justice spaces.

This award honors someone who has demonstrated a commitment to fighting inequity, and highlights the brilliant ways they are already making change in their community.

Recognizes a community leader making a bold contribution to advancing gender and racial equity in Arizona. Changing a mind, shifting gears, or revising a vision of success requires bravery and continual learning, and are necessary for building a thriving and liberated community.

This award honors someone who inspires us to reach for the unlikely approach and embrace change.

Recognizes someone who embodies community care outside of (or perhaps alongside) formal positions of leadership. We acknowledge that the labor of care is frequently overlooked and dismissed. This individual does not need to be a biological parent.

This award honors someone who nurtures and is skilled at balancing the well-being of themselves and their community members.

Recognizes a leader who has contributed to community in one way for many years, and has made a shift to a new phase of life. This could include a career transition, or a different effort to create lasting impact in their community.

This award honors someone who remains deeply engaged in the fight for social justice and celebrates both their exceptional legacy and their new role.

Given to honor a community member posthumously. Although they have made their final transition, the ripple effect of their life here continues to grow and shape the course of Arizona’s future.
