Women’s Foundation for the State of Arizona Appoints Cheryl House as New Board Chair
The Women’s Foundation for the State of Arizona (WFSA) is thrilled to announce the appointment of Cheryl House as the new Board Chair, effective July 1, 2024. Cheryl, an esteemed member of WFSA’s board since September 2021, brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience from the Development and Fundraising sector of Southern Arizona.
Cheryl’s impressive career includes significant leadership roles at the University of Arizona Health Sciences (UAHS), where she served as Interim Associate Vice President and Chief Development Officer, as well as Senior Director of Development. Before her tenure at UAHS, Cheryl made substantial contributions to the Pima Community College Foundation, where she was Assistant Vice Chancellor and Executive Director. Her outstanding achievements in fundraising were recognized in 2001 when she was named Outstanding Fundraising Executive by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) of Southern Arizona. Cheryl House, CFRE, has been a Senior Consultant with The Phoenix Philanthropy Group since October 2018, and currently serves as Executive Vice President.
“Cheryl’s extensive experience and strategic vision will be instrumental in guiding WFSA through its next iteration,” said Katia Jones, CEO of WFSA. “Her leadership and dedication are truly inspiring, and we are confident that under her stewardship, WFSA will continue to achieve remarkable advancements for women statewide.”
Cheryl House expressed her enthusiasm for the new role, stating, “By investing in women and girls, WFSA is creating the positive social, political, and economic change that enables our communities throughout Arizona to thrive. I am honored to be part of this important work and excited to see what WFSA will do next.”
As WFSA’s next Board Chair, Cheryl is poised to lead the organization with her innovative approach and deep commitment to empowering women throughout Arizona. The WFSA community extends heartfelt thanks to Cheryl for her dedication and leadership, and we look forward to the exciting progress WFSA will make under her guidance.
